Remembering Jeffery Ketcham

I recently found out a good friend and artist passed away.

Jeffery Ketcham was kind, creative, sweet, hugely stubborn and completely big-hearted, with a vibrant soul to match. He was a handsome man with a deep sexy voice to match. He was an incredible artist, he could not do anything else. He showed me his amazing ideas and sketches and all the beautiful art and pieces around his house. He gave me one of his pieces for my birthday which I will cherish forever. He helped me out when I was down and out, and was so giving and loving person. He loved his 2 wienerschnitzels (dogs) that ruled the roost and, rightly so, were completely infatuated with him.

Thank you for being my friend Jeffrey. I am so happy for you to have been part of my life. Your spirit and work lives on.
With Love, Alan.

Jeffery Ketcham

I don't know what compelled me to search for Jeffrey tonight... Perhaps I do...
Will someone please contact me? I wondered why he had dropped out of my life. Now I wonder what had happened to his art.
I am fearful. Hopefully it is in the hands of someone who loved him. I have to know... His sister?
Anyone but...
Jeffery was the light in my life during a very dark time.
I sit here with a very old check in my hand that he didn't owe and I never cashed. But that's the Jeffery I knew... a MAN... Even when he had a small boy walking around in a man's body for a friend... Said man/boy might not live up to his responsibilities... Jeffrey was the man who would pay (literally), when boy/man would not. It was as if He was somehow responsible because he had been friendly with this person(!?!?).
I've missed him so. Hope to hear from a friend. Must go and cry now. Would a family member like this check? Seems like a small thing, but never was to me.
Love you Jeffery!

Hello,
I am a neice of Jeff's. I don't know of anyone is checking back on this or not but I though I owuld at least respond since I for whatever reason stumbled across this site. My uncle fought a valient battle for months insisting on working on his art until the end - looking for peices for a wood box, and doing sketches in his journal. He had many of his art peices shipped to his family where he was being cared for. All peices sent back to him remain in the family between his parents, three sisters and the other neices and nephew. I was fortunate to get to know my uncle better but still miss him terribly. I just wanted to respond after I saw the posting from Surina.

It is so nice to see a living memorial develop for the one and only Jeffery Ketcham. Thank you Surina and Jeffery's niece for your comments. However near or far we all are, Jeffery knows how to bring people together. You indeed live on, my friend.

It's been a while and I still think of him every day! I was lucky enough to have had him in my home for many weeks before he returned to IL to die with his loving family. What a talent! What a wonderful and beautiful person! Again, I am lucky to have many reminders of our times together, art he gave me, art I purchased from him, and art I am holding for his family. I miss him terribly and daily!

Hello,

My name is Peter Warshaw. I am the husband of one of Jeffery Ketcham's sisters.

If anyone would like to know more about where his art is, who has it, or just to talk about Jeffery, you can reach me at jazztemple2@aol.com. Put "Jeffery" (NOT "Jeffrey") in the subject line, and I will find it! And you!

Be well, one and all.

Peter
